What is the length of stay?
We are an all male facility and our Day Rehabilitation Program is generally 60–90 days.

Do you take people on psychiatric or other medications?
Yes

Do you detoxify people from alcohol and/or drugs?
We can do detoxification on a case-by-case basis from alcohol and some drugs — this would be determined during the pre-admission process.

What is ambulatory detox?
A medically supervised process to eliminate alcohol and drugs from the body without the need for inpatient services. It is typically used for clients who are experiencing mild withdrawal symptoms.

Do you take clients on Methadone?
No

Can a client take Suboxone at SCI?
Yes

What is the daily routine?
Lectures, groups, assigned activities, AA/NA meetings

What should I bring?
One week’s worth of clothing (long pants are required during treatment hours), Collared Shirts, Toiletries (no alcohol or aerosol cans), Shower Shoes, Prepaid phone card if available, Medications if applicable, Any forms of ID. Additionally: Body piercings, including earrings, must be removed prior to admission; cell phones are not permitted; you may bring a towel but linens are provided.

What are the living arrangements?
We house approximately 175 men; we have dormitory living arrangements – 15 to 20 men to a dorm.

What insurances do you take?
Most NY Medicaid (depends on County) and private insurances.

Do you provide pick up?
Yes, prearranged pick up is available from detoxes and crisis centers. We also pick up at the Garrison Train Station twice daily.

Can I just drop someone off for treatment?
Preferably not. Please call the Admissions office Mon-Fri, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm at 845.335.1020.

Do you provide aftercare?
All clients discharged from SCI receive an aftercare referral. Clients who complete our treatment program typically are referred to halfway houses, sober houses or outpatient treatment.

What else should I know?
We are licensed by NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS).

Additionally, St. Christopher's Inn has received a three year accreditation for its Alcohol and Substance Abuse Outpatient Treatment Programs by CARF, The Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
We have a GED program, Family Program and an Evening Outpatient Program for men and women in the community.

You're a Catholic organization and I'm not Catholic:
We emphasize spirituality and we accept men regardless of race, creed or way of life. Pastoral Counseling is available on a voluntary basis.
