Medically Supervised Outpatient Withdrawal
The Medically Supervised Outpatient Withdrawal (MSOW) program, which is licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services, is designed for individuals who may be in need of an uncomplicated detox from alcohol, sedative hypnotics and opiates, before beginning a more intensive and structured treatment program for substance use disorder.
Patients who meet criteria for MSOW do not need hospitalization, but can benefit from beginning to treat their addiction, while living in a safe environment that also provides education and support.
MSOW Patients meet daily with a substance use disorder counselor, and the medical staff.
In addition, patients have access to an array of services and learning opportunities to point them in the right direction for long-term recovery including 12- step meetings, pastoral counseling, informative lectures and individual sessions with counselors.
We strongly encourage our MSOW patients to continue treatment in our Day Rehabilitation Program or another treatment facility.
