Criteria for Admissions

The Admissions Office accepts Medicaid and Aetna. If St. Christopher’s Inn is not currently in network with your plan, we may be able to develop a Single Case Rate Agreement with your carrier. Additionally, in order to be accepted for admission into the shelter and/or treatment program at St. Christopher’s Inn, you must meet the following:

• Male
• Aged 18 or over
• Medically Stable
• Psychiatrically Stable

 

We Require:

• Completion of our Admissions Referral Form
• Men to be medically and psychiatrically stable
• Immediate medical care to be addressed prior to admission

      • Amidacare
      • CDPHP
      • Empire / Anthem Healthplus
      • Fidelis
      • HIP / GHI Medicaid (parent company is Emblem with Value Options, also MA)
      • Metroplus
      • United Healthcare
    • Private Insurances accepted at SCI:
      • Aetna
      • CDPHP (Capital District Physicians Health Plan)

**At this time, we are unable to accept: Medicare; Centers Plan for Health Living, LLC; Emblem/HIP/GHI Commercial Private; Excellus Health Plan; MVP Managed Care for 820; VNS Choice Select Health SNP; and Village Senior Services Corp.**

 

When Available:

• Medical history with chest x-ray or PPD
• Pychiatric evaluation for men on psychotropic medications

Accommodations at SCI is a dormitory residence setting. We provide care that is both short and long term (6+ months). For men requiring medically managed detox, please complete prior to admission at SCI.
