New Director of Counseling and Shelter Services
In September, R. Kevin Douglas, LCSW-R, CASAC-MC, was appointed Director of Counseling and Shelter Services at St. Christopher’s Inn.
Kevin holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Studies (Humanistic & Multicultural Education) from SUNY New Paltz, as well as a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham’s Graduate School of Social Services. He also holds a postgraduate certification from the National Institute for Psychotherapies and is a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Master Counselor (CASAC-MC) and a Member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Kevin entered the field of human services in 1995, and has worked with numerous community-based agencies, hospitals, a residential school and as a field advisor for both Marist College and Fordham University.
Kevin shared, “I consider it a great honor to serve as the Director of Counseling & Shelter Services for the Inn. Throughout my career in the field of substance use disorder treatment, St. Christopher’s Inn has always been considered the best of the best. Working in other programs, time and time again the decision was to send the most challenging clients to St. Christopher’s Inn where they had the greatest chance of success. My goal in this new role is to continue this long-standing tradition of excellence and commitment to the men we serve. It is a privilege to work for and with the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement in their mission of healing and dedication to those struggling with the debilitating illness of addiction.”
