Swing Against Addiction: Honoring Brandon Storms
The Second Annual Swing Against Addiction: Honoring Brandon Storms Golf Tournament took place on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the scenic Green Apples Golf Course in Highland, New York. The event was planned and organized by Susan Hecht. Susan lost her son Brandon to the disease of addiction on May 19, 2016, and is on a mission to help save others from the tragedy she endured, and to honor the memory of her son.
With the help of her family and friends, Susan worked tirelessly for months planning and organizing this event for the second year. More than 70 people came out to enjoy a day of golf, followed by an evening of food, music, and lots of prizes.
Frank Pellegrino, Assistant Director of Counseling & Shelter Services at St. Christopher’s Inn joined the golfers, and shared his thanks to everyone who participated. Frank shared, “At St. Christopher’s Inn, we know that the men we treat are sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, and friends. Our goal is to help them find their way out of the spiral of addiction so they can return to the people who love them. Thanks for your support.”
With the support of all the generous donors, sponsors, golfers and attendees, the proceeds from the event raised over $10,000.00 for St. Christopher’s Inn!
Thank you to Susan, her family and friends, and to everyone who participated in this very special event. The 3rd Annual Swing Against Addiction: Honoring Brandon Storms is already in the planning stages for next September!
