Recovery Sunday
Virtual Mass at Graymoor
Recovery Sunday is a national day of prayer during National Recovery Month in September. Started by New York Archbishop Cardinal John O’Connor in 1999 with the help of Father Daniel Egan, SA, and Therese Engel, Recovery Sunday calls to the national consciousness the plight of those suffering with addiction and those who love and support them on the difficult road to healing, reconciliation and recovery.
This year, Recovery Sunday takes place on September 27, and the Friars of the Atonement will say a special virtual Mass at 11 am Eastern time. The Mass will be celebrated by Father Dennis Polanco, SA, SCI Spiritual Director and President, with readings by Dr. James Schiller, PhD, SCI Executive Director, and music by members of the SCI Men’s Choir.
The Recovery Sunday Mass can be viewed on September 27 on the St. Christopher’s Inn Facebook page as well on the SCI website. We hope you can join us on this special day of remembrance and prayer.
Fr. Dennis Polanco, SA, will celebrate virtual Mass for Recovery Sunday 2020.
